Letting Go is just a phrase, they say,
Mindset, the past and forgiveness do not delay,
Yet it is not a turnaround that is quick,
Thoughts and feelings can build walls that are thick

Letting Go and forgiveness is hard,
Eloquent words don't work when I'm scarred
Delving deep and processing out
This begins the journey with clout

Letting Go and forgiveness may bring pain
My choice and response can bring gain
Holding on to hurt with a tight grip
Only means I see my inner peace slip

It starts with the intentional thought
That change in me needs to be sought
Then expressing thoughts and feelings will help
Speaking, drawing, movement or just a yelp

Bring in a friend, family and help from above
This will help you be covered with love
Begin to loosen the grip around this hurt
Be courageous and do not divert

The wrong, the hurt or the pain is real
Starting to let go will break a hard seal
Its hard to do this and stay sound
But don't be mistaken forgiveness can abound

The choice always remains with us
What we hold onto can cause pus
Making the hard choice of mind
Will release and open and never bind

I forgive,is not just a word or two
But an intentional choice for me and you
A one off phrase it may not be
The duration of this process you will have to see

Forgiveness brings a different route
It breaks a dead end and opens a new fruit
Letting go and forgiveness bring
A deeper journey that your heart will sing

    Very good poem it speaks of what a lot of people go through.They find it difficult to let go. We could tell you of heartbroken ministers to people that have never gone back to Church. To someone who commited suicide.

I have many options to choose in life They can lead to joy or strife Options appear every day Choices, I make set the way Consequences are profound on what I select The decision I make can have a great affect Following my own wants and desires May not lead to the best that is required As I process it can be a struggle I have many options that I juggle Its my life and I am the boss But this mindset can cause a great loss It can bring an inner turmoil in my head Mental gymnastics, multiple thoughts spread As I tussle with the pros and cons Whether to make the best choice and walk on It's up to me and my choice, Yet a different way has a voice This way is to pause and consider Thinking of others is much bigger In our hearts may love reign As selfish thoughts just drain Choices we make effect everything Thinking of others gives life a spring
